RULES AND REGULATIONS

  STREET SWEEPING PARKING PERMITS

The following rules and regulations must be adhered to pertaining to Street Sweeping parking Permits:

1.         The permit applicant is expected to fully utilize garage, driveway, off-alley parking and any other parking legally available.  If a "hardship" exists, a parking permit may be issued authorizing the permit holder to park on the street during restricted hours.  Permits may not be obtained for boats, commercial vehicles, motor homes, or any other recreational vehicles.  A permit does not allow for on-street storage of any vehicle. Permit(s) must be adhered to rear driver’s side of the vehicle.

2.         Vehicles may be parked on the street only in front of the permit holder's property.

3.         Permit holders will be responsible for cleaning in front of the property and the area of the adjacent property frontage on either side where the sweeper has been impeded.  The permittee shall sweep subsequent to the sweeper within one week of the regular schedule.  At the discretion of the City, if the cleaning and the timeliness of the cleaning is not in compliance with City standards, the permit may be revoked.  The City will cause the property frontage to be cleaned at the expense of the permit holder.

4.         Single-family residences may obtain two (2) permits per household.  Apartment, condominium and multi-family (duplex, etc.) dwellers may obtain one (1) permit per household.  Requests for additional permits must be submitted to the Citizen Traffic Committee for review and approval.

5.         Proof of current vehicle registration must be presented at the time of permit issuance for all vehicles registered to the permit holder's address.

6.         Permits must be renewed annually and may be revoked by the Director of Public Works if the originally stated need no longer exists or if the permit holder fails to comply with the conditions of a permit issuance.

7.         The annual parking permit fee is $18.00 per vehicle.  Street sweeping permits expire on June 30 of each year.  Permit fees will be prorated as follows:

            July through September                 $18.00

            October through December           $13.50

            January through March                   $ 9.00

            April through June                          $ 4.50

8.         There is a $4.00 permit decal transfer and/or replacement fee, applicable to those requesting to change the assigned permit to another vehicle in their possession.

Sincerely,
